Mind Tree – Element4l Original Soundtrack

a2526303440_10

We’ve presented you Mind tree by enig’matik record for his glitch tracks. You can now listen to the album  »Element4l » of one the best glitch producer in Australia. Enjoy.

Boundary

Boundary

You probably ever heard Ghislain Poirier (ninja tunes) and you know his skills as a tropical bass producer. But don’t forget that he hasn’t always produced some tropical bass. With this project under Boundary’s name, he’s back with an album which mix atmospheric beats, IDM and ambient. If you still had doubts on Poirier’s efficiency, that album will prove you that you were wrong.

△ IT’S ALL CONNECTED △

Can a website be human enough to allow us to say that a website is another website’s friend? Seriously, I have no clue, I don’t even care so stop asking weird questions, will you?
Famelik here. I’ve decided to mark this transition to spring and to make some things more explicit : Unlog is, one way or another, connected to many people and projects. So lets do an update and introduce you to some of them. Not because they pay us, but because each one of them deserves it.

• Stroll Around the Groove : Rare groove weekly radio show

Crate digging and rare groove here. SATG is a weekly radio show and event I’m proud to be part of. Pride is not even the right word, but the best I have in mind to express how amazing it is to discover by my teammates’ digging report every week. We’ve recently celebrated our 33th radio show, and we certainly won’t stop here. Sit tight, we bring the records.

• BassMusic Magazine : Bass music, yes. But French style.

When DJ Noyl does not dig for Unlog on work on his beat-juggling patterns, he writes articles for his french family : Bass Music Mag. A web-zine magazine focused on bass music, with articles, interviews, portrait, chroniques, playlists and a diary of french events.

• Blackelk Recordings : A new beat scene based in Southern France

If you’ve been hanging around lately, you’ve obviously read several times about Blackelk Recordings. Created by UM, one of our very first podcasters, the label recently celebrated its first anniversary and plans some interesting things for 2013. All the catalogue of this new beat scene is available for free download, a good opportunity to discover previous works from artists such as Broken Drop, UM, Everydayz, Duff Ill, Hentitan, Killacam, Le Med, MLp, Freaks Show Spores, Famelik (who’s that guy again?) and many more. No shameless promo here : our connection being the logical consequence of our similar views on music, they definitely have to be on that list.

• Shabu Recordings : Splash

« post arty ambient electroacoustic synth music inspired by acid and techno » can be an option if you try to find a keyword combo to describe what’s Shabu about « whatever, just feed me new music » could be another combo. Either way, this Montreal based label holds the key to a world known to few people, full of immersive textures you’ll sometimes want to listen to at night. Axel Helios, Jesse Somfay, Avus, Niccolò Bianchi, Vaghe Stelle, Groj… are the core artists signed on this label, not to add the impressive list of artists about to join the spash (hehe, I know, you don’t). Thanks again to Axel Helios for mastering our Ravi Shankar tribute beat tape by the way!

Pattern Language – A.M. Architect

AM-Architect-Pattern-Language

Daniel Stanush and Diego Chavez are A.M. Architect, a duo that melds live instrumentation and electronic production techniques into emotive, elegant compositions. Guitar layers and electric piano are broken apart, rebuilt and spread over a rhythm section that fuses hip-hop and beat music. Daniel describes their process, “We’ll record ideas really quickly, some piano, bass, guitar – and then immediately flip it into something new. Then we’ll record more ideas on top of it and flip it again, often ending up with 5 or 6 different compositions from the same source material. Some of those ideas spin off to become new songs, so the process tends to start over. That’s how we made Pattern Language.”

A.M. Architect is from San Antonio, Texas, but currently in Boston, Massachusetts. They have performed live with Tycho, Jimmy Edgar, Mux Mool, and Eliot Lipp.

Today’s pick : Math Rosen & Everydayz

I’m a nice guy.

Except when you give me tiewraps. This post was needed because of the two main reasons today I’ve had to give up tiewrapping my own suitcase over and over. And I’m not done.

Still got tiewraps. Lots of missions to come.

Enough talk, here are the two reasons that brought me back to the human condition :

MATH ROSEN – DRAGNET (Single)

Among you readers, some might have already spotted him on some live beatmaking videos (like this one, or that one), or tripping on the Highlander theme (epic time) with the track IMMRTL he made for our Unlog compilation (I can’t believe you didn’t get it yet, never too late).

Math comes back with with Dragnet, an EP produced for Dragnet Magazine and that features remixes from Edison, Infector (in a way, Math Rosen himself) and Living Stone. They certainly know a lot about tiewraps to make such a brain stimulating and calculated sequence of beats. In a way, what else would you expect from Math…

EVERYDAYZ – ETUDES ET BROUILLONS

One year back, his summer beat tape may have spent some time in your playlists. 2012, now signed on Blackelk Recordings, Ilia Koutchoukov aka Everydayz just released Etudes et Brouillons (Studies and drafts), available for free download. My advice would be to press play on the first song, and let it play itself. Except if you have to tiewrap your own room.

Shit, no more tiewraps… time to use TAPE…

Spark – Ramble (2012) – Free Download

While forging his debut album, « Dichotomy« , Spark was engulfed on a dual sided inner war. It was analog against digital, man versus machine. A truly bipolar body of work, courtesy of an obsessive compulsive maestro.

This time around, Spark threw all cares to the solar wind. And an ever shape-shifting record emerged.

May your sound system salivate, as Monster Jinx prides itself on presenting you Spark’s new multidirectional, layer-stacked, omnipolar, mutating EP. This one is called « Ramble ».

And how does it sound? Picture a bunch of purple-hazed werewolves laced with sound-crayons, drawing freely on musical sheets. That’s pretty much how it sounds.
