"Pure product of the golden age of Hip Hop , "Sonik Fiktion" is the result of an encounter between legendary  MC’s and a composer worthy of the greatest names of English trip-hop. A flashback of the days before  the audio compression of the 10′s, this album draws as much inspiration  from New York’s soulful moods as from Bristol’s theatrical atmosphere. Rose From The Dirt immediately raises the mood: powerful, dark and heady, where DV the Kryst & Rock (Heltah Skelath) offer a tribute to the underground. Guilty Simpson and Oh No set Trust The Song on fire , a production worthy of Stones Throw’s greatest moments. Sadat X (Brand Nubian), Lord Have Mercy (Flipmode Squad) & Fred The Godson drop Look At The Door, leaning laid back on the corner of 88 Tenth Ave. Hannah Aldridge and Grace Kelly cast a spell with their nostalgic melodies reminiscent of the "Wild Bunch" sound. Finally a few instrumentals complete the tracklist, worked as a DJ Krush under Prozak. 12 tracks for an endless journey on the  sinusoidal waves of a Galactic Akai."

At the time we started our Unlog Podcasts, UM (France) was our second guest, coming up with a tasty mix many of you might remember of.

Later in 2011, he released his first opus of the Rare & Limited Beats series, an instrumental hip hop trip among lost indian soundscapes, which was recently reissued on Blackelk Recordings, the label he founded in 2012.

Now, the good news is that an amazing second opus is available for free download on Blackelk Recordings. Check it out!

Some of you crate diggers around here might already have checked the Stroll around the groove radio show. If not, just know that a part of the Unlog team is also part of that project, a radio show hosted on CJLO (Montréal) every monday night.Stroll and Unlog are cousins, in a way, Stroll being the old school cousin, focused on rare grooves in all its forms.Last show led us to know a bit more about our two Montreal based guests, Sugarface Nene (Beat the world) and beatmaker Endong Engone, as you can hear in our latest podcast (french speaking, but not that hard to handle).
